Hotels have systems to manage rooms, revenue, guests, finance and operations. What many still lack is a system for managing the technology itself.
Techorph Hospitality Solutions today announced the launch of HTMS™, Hotel Technology Management System, a platform created to give hotel leadership a clear view of what technology the hotel has, what it costs, how well it supports each department, where money may be saved and what should be prioritized next.
The launch comes at a particularly relevant time for hotel executives. As properties prepare new budgets and consider additional investments in AI and automation, technology decisions are becoming more difficult to manage system by system.
Information about technology spending, contracts, vendors, projects and performance is often spread across spreadsheets, vendor portals, budgets, project files and individual departments. The GM, finance team, ownership and IT may each hold part of the picture without one shared view.
HTMS™ brings that information together so leadership can answer practical questions:
- What technology do we have, who owns it, and how well is it being used?
- What does our technology cost, and where are we paying for overlapping or unnecessary services?
- Which contracts are coming up for renewal, and what should be replaced, improved, or renegotiated?
- Where should we reduce spending, and where should the next technology investment go?
“Hotels do not need another list of systems,” said Jean Bessard, Founder of Techorph Hospitality Solutions. “They need a clear way to understand what they have, what it costs, what value it is creating and what should change next.”
HTMS™ is not a replacement for the property management system, revenue management system, CRM, accounting platform or guest-facing technology.
Instead, it gives hotel leadership one management view across technology spending and upcoming commitments, systems and ownership, vendors and contracts, projects and priorities, department technology needs, technology risks and known issues, savings opportunities, technology utilization, AI readiness and value created from technology investments.
The platform is also designed to help GMs and finance leaders review technology spending more clearly during budget planning. That includes identifying underused systems, overlapping capabilities, contracts that may need renegotiation, unnecessary licenses and investments that may no longer be producing the expected value.
“Technology decisions are often made one system at a time,” Bessard said. “But the GM needs to see the full picture: how technology supports each department, what the hotel is spending, where the risks are, what projects are coming and where there is an opportunity to create more value.”
Bessard has more than 15 years of hotel technology experience. During his time as a Lead Hotel Technology Consultant supporting The Leading Hotels of the World, he saw the same challenge across different luxury hotels: strong individual systems did not always give hotel leadership a clear view of technology spending, contracts, priorities and business value.
That experience helped shape HTMS™ and Techorph’s focus on Hotel Technology Management as a distinct management function.
